Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Supervising employees to include tasks such as assigning work, setting, and monitoring performance standards, conducting formal performance evaluations, and providing coaching or mentoring to improve staff effectiveness and achieve organizational goals. Serving as a liaison for internal and external agencies, departments (or similar) to provide personnel security related policy oversight such as identifying, developing, and reviewing policies and assessing and implementing identified policies. Providing expert advice or assistance to executive managers, supervisors or other personnel regarding existing and new policies related to personnel security that may include staffing related training and coordination needs. Collaborating with designated legal officials to ensure interpretation and implementation of new and existing policy is legally sufficient. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The incumbent serves as a first-level supervisor and is responsible for supervising a subordinate staff and performing studies of processes and organizational effectiveness in various assigned functional areas. This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection. The major duties for this position are listed below but not limited to. Reviewing the guidance initiated by higher headquarters, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and ensures that all activities understand the guidance required for formulating their input. Providing expert advice/assistance to executive managers, supervisors, and other personnel regarding existing and new policies related to current discussions; staffing related coordination, needs, and alignment; budgetary requirements and allocations, database access request procedures, and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) management. Overseeing programs to determine progress against identified plans and determine necessary personnel, funding, and other resource adjustments. Planning, developing and coordinating planning management through briefings, presentations and conferences for executive management Designing and administering planning and controls for submission of data, including forming the basis of budget and program resource requests and decisions.
