Student Trainee (Sales Store Checker)

This position requires good hand and eye coordination, alertness, integrity, tact, and courtesy, as well as the skill to operate simple equipment repetitively. To be eligible you must have a high school diploma or a GED diploma completed under an approved State or local governing body. To be considered you must provide appropriate supporting documentation. Sales Store Checkers work in a military grocery store. The work is similar to a cashier or clerk at your local grocery or retail store. As a student trainee and under close supervision, your primary task is to operate a cash register. Tasks and responsibilities include: Receiving change fund, Operating a cash register scanning system to list and total the prices of individual items purchased, including determining proper prices by scanning, price look-up, unit marking, or referring to price lists, Collecting payment, assuring validity of cash items accepted and making correct change when required, and Turning in cash and negotiable instruments to supervisor at the end of the shift.
