BASIC REQUIREMENT: All applicants must possess the following J.D. or LL.B. degree --AND-- Active membership of the bar in good standing in any state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the commonwealth of Puerto Rico. (Note: proof of bar membership will be required before entry on duty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement. SK-17: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14/15 level. Specialized experience includes: 1. Conducting enforcement investigations or litigation; AND 2. Planning, organizing, and coordinating enforcement projects or initiatives relating to investigations, policies or processes; AND 3. Making recommendations for enforcement action to the Commission to resolve problems or obstacles. In this role as a Distributions Supervisory Trial Attorney, you will be responsible for: Supervising the work of Trial Attorneys who conduct and implement all distributions aspects of civil and administrative proceedings assigned by the Division and making Commission recommendations for distribution plan approval. Overseeing litigation issues resulting from challenges to distribution plans. Fostering the Office of Distributions' working rapport with other Enforcement attorneys, and staff within Office of General Counsel, Office of Chief Counsel, Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, Office of Investor Education and Assistance, Office of Financial Management and Office of the Secretary to collaborate on distributions matters as necessary. Enforcing federal securities laws, setting priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work. - Recommending promotions or reassignments; hearing and resolving complaints; mentoring and training staff; and identifying development and training opportunities for employees. Participating with other supervisors in the management of the office, consulting with and advising senior managers on administrative matters relating to personnel and office procedures. Managing and coordinating the work of teams, which can include attorneys, accountants, program analysts, experts and support staff, and performing a full range of supervisory duties.
