A qualified candidate must possess the following: A minimum of two years general work experience that demonstrates progressively responsible administrative, professional, technical work involving facility, program and staff supervision and management. A minimum 1 year specific knowledge of bowling, bowling equipment and facilities, and recreational activities. Knowledge of military MWR and/or NAF policies and procedures preferred. Must demonstrate ability to deal effectively with subordinates, supervisory and management officials. Basic understanding of budgeting and activity level financial management. Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and bowling specific software. Combination of experience related to customer service and or activity-based functions. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Knowledge of recreational programs. Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning and conducting all types of activities. Ability to represent the department and speak in front of both small and large groups. Knowledge of recreational and entertainment events. Program planning and leadership skills to devise and implement a leisure and social recreation program that will stimulate and sustain the interest of participants and challenge participants that they may benefit from the social values to be derived from recreational activities. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license, License must be obtained within 90 days of being placed in the position. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Assists with the economic and efficient operation of the assigned Bowling facility, which includes up to 32 lanes, equipment maintenance and repair, and facilities. May include snack bar, and/or pro shop. Assist with the day-today operations of the facility, to include overseeing and directing work, ensuring a safe and pleasurable environment for all patrons, ensuring the cleanliness and good repair of the facility, reporting any damages, mechanical or other breakage or malfunction, reporting of safety hazards. Serve as fund custodial of the facility, ensuring the safety and appropriate use of funds, ringing/verifying registers, issuing and checking change funds, preparation and/or oversight of Daily Activity Reports and deposits, and assisting with procurement requests, physical asset and/or resales/equipment/gear inventories. Ensure the implementation of higher-level directives and regulations. Promote, schedule, and manage the conduct of tournaments, matches, and others special events, and program necessary resources for the purchase of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise. May oversee the operation of the pro shop and assist with bowling lessons. Carry out necessary liaison with other staff officials that support Center activities, Bowling League participation, marketing, purchase of bowling equipment and accessories, etc. Responsible for acting on internal and patron problems with minimal adverse impact on functional programs. For assigned shifts: schedule work, train and recommend outside training, provide input to performance evaluation, counsel assigned personnel, and recommend personnel actions, including selections for hire, recommendations for corrective actions, or recommendations for recognition and/or award.
