Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the Education AND/OR Specialized Experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing documents for accuracy; AND/OR 2) Composing and routing correspondence; AND/OR 3) Reviewing financial documents; AND/OR 4) Providing customer service and support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Master's of Business Administration; Master's of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources Management; or Master's of Science with a concentration in Human Resources Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Command Military Awards Program: As the administrator for the Command Military Awards, the employee manages the entire life cycle of an award with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Maintaining a comprehensive awards tracker, which includes issuing suspense notifications to Directorates 90-120 days before a member transfers, retires, or is released from active duty.
Drafting grammatically correct correspondence, such as officer promotion letters, and handling the final disposition of awards by mailing documents to former members and submitting the official signed award and NAVPERS.
Electronic Correspondence Management: In this capacity, the HR Assistant serves as the command's assistant manager for the electronic correspondence routing system reporting to the Human Resources Department Head as the command’s primary manager.
Special Pay: In this capacity, the employee serves as the Primary Point of Contact (POC), for Officer Actions and Special Pays.
