You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Experience in assisting and creating system security vulnerability reviews; AND - Experience assisting with the analysis of equipment and software performance data to develop, execute, and refine test plans, ensuring designs meet security requirements; AND - Experience providing technical assistance with risk management, security, and contingency planning for local area network (LAN) infrastructure, servers and workstations. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. - Attention to Detail- Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. - Customer Service- Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. - Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. - Problem Solving- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

The strategic goals of OCIO are to: rapidly modernize HUD's information technology to support key business initiatives; transform the information technology infrastructure to adapt to and adopt emerging technologies; develop a cadre of highly capable IT professionals with mission critical competencies needed to meet the Department's goals; and provide secure, rapid, and reliable data and information to our customers. As a/an ITSPEC (INFOSEC), you will: Study new equipment and software performance data to develop and/or modify test plans, conduct tests and analyze test results to develop or design equipment to meet security requirements. Maintain or restore operations, while safeguarding evidence. Serve as technical specialist for risk management, security, and contingency planning for local area network (LAN) infrastructure, servers and workstation in assigned areas. Work with senior specialists to provide advice and mitigation assistance in connection with one or more specific technologies associated with computer and network security operations.
