Your application and resume must clearly show that you possess the experience requirements. Specialized Experience Requirement: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as three or more of the following: Providing training, technical advice, and guidance related to the reasonable accommodation program and process; and/or analyzing documents to determine whether an employee is a qualified person with a disability under the law; and/or explaining applicable laws, rules, and regulations to assist supervisors with their decision-making process regarding reasonable accommodations; and/or analyzing case law, principles, practices, and regulations sufficient to perform detailed analyses and draw conclusions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Provides training, technical advice, and guidance to employees, staff members, management, supervisors, and program officials on compliance with Federal disability laws and agency policies related to reasonable accommodations.
Obtains and reviews medical documentation to perform an individualized assessment as to whether an individual requesting an accommodation is a qualified individual with a disability under appropriate laws or regulations.
Responsible for explaining applicable laws, rules, and regulations to assist supervisors with their decision-making process regarding reasonable accommodations.
Works directly with first line supervisors and program managers to ensure they are fully engaged in the interactive process, to ensure that the individual reasonable accommodation issues are affectively addressed.
Collaborates with Employee and Labor Relations Staff regarding disability laws and agency policies related to reasonable accommodations.
