You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Oversee gender-based violence strategic initiatives and policy and management priorities; AND - Support senior teams in developing and carrying out plans to achieve success; AND - Facilitate coordination among senior teams and advise on progress and emerging challenges. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15 you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

The Department is committed to furthering the promise of self-sufficiency in every American while promoting economic development to revitalize rural, tribal, and urban communities across the country. HUD's Office on Gender-Based Violence (OGBV), located in the Office of the Secretary, coordinates and implements policies and programs to address the safe housing and economic stability needs of survivors of gender-based violence, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. OGBV is responsible for setting policy on gender-based violence and housing issues; overseeing HUD's Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) training and technical assistance work; and leading coordination efforts to implement VAWA across HUD and in collaboration with other agencies. As a Senior Advisor on Gender-Based Violence, you will: -Work with the Director of the Office on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to coordinate activities pertaining to gender-based violence (GBV) throughout the Department, including Department responsibilities to implement the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and serve as a liaison and central point of contact for HUD's work with stakeholders involved in GBV. -Work closely with the Director, Department leadership, other management, and Department offices in developing plans, goals, and objectives related to GBV. -Assist in coordinating and developing interagency and intra-agency policy, protocols, guidelines, implementation, and other matters affecting GBV, VAWA's housing provisions, and other housing protections for GBV survivors. The Senior Advisor will work with the program offices and HUD Office of General Counsel (OGC) to draft and revise regulations, forms, and policy documents. -Work with appropriate persons in HUD field offices to address issues pertaining to VAWA implementation and GBV survivors' ability to access and maintain HUD-assisted housing. -Oversee HUD budget requirements, funding, and priorities related to GBV, including relevant components of the Community Compass Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Program.
