Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to Lead or Supervise Managing work functions by establishing priorities and coordinating all work sequences based on the ability and skills of subordinate employees, and evaluating employee performance for all maintenance requirements associated with Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) systems and components. Communicating work project requirements and providing assistance and training to subordinate employees on the procedures and standards used for manufacturing, overhauling, repairing, installing and testing ALRE systems and components in support of in-service development programs. Preparing status reports to include inspection details, planning and execution status, as well as forecasting any current or potential issues to maximize efficiency and ensure all rework is completed according to precise specifications. Utilizing expert knowledge of materials, fixtures, equipment, and manufacturing/welding processes to analyze project data and identify critical defects or opportunities to improve upon the manufacturing process. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. You will evaluate and maintain technical surveillance over complex manufacturing operations required in the prototyping, production, repair, assembly, disassembly, overhaul, installation and test of Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE).
You will read and interpret ALRE engineering and manufacturing drawings for the purpose of highlighting critical manufacturing processes are imperative, and experience embracing the Quality Management System.
You will prepare status reports describing inspection, project proposals, planning and execution status and completion forecasts, and recommend recovery actions to ensure due dates are met.
