To qualify for the Criminal Investigator position at the GS-1811-14 grade level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Minimum Qualifications To qualify for this position at the GS-14 grade level, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Specialized experience must include all of: Create and manage policies and/or guidance; AND Provide leadership to others such as workgroups, teams or special projects; AND; Communicate orally and in writing (i.e. reports and briefings). The major duties of the Criminal Investigator (Program Manager) position include, but are not limited to, the following: Serves as an advisor to top level Bureau management such as the Assistant Director(Field Operations), Division Chiefs, field Special Agents in Charge (SAC's), on all policy issues and technical matters within his/her area of responsibility. Performs complex, in-depth studies and/or directs and coordinates task forces or working groups on significant law enforcement issues which impact on functions and programs of national significance. Provides technical assistance to Bureau managers and supervisors on major national investigations involving violations of Federal laws under ATF jurisdiction. Reviews, evaluates, and recommends improvements to major law enforcement program and mission areas.
