Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Applying the principles of physical risk classification to medical conditions and cases, 2) Providing supervision, management, oversight, and training to assigned employee, subordinates, and lower graded personnel, 3) Utilizing the computer widely and used type of computer software with ease (e.g., the internet, wireless networking, web-based workflow programs, Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Word TM, Microsoft Excel TM), and 4) Determining and distinguishing medical information that may affect physical qualification, recommendations of waivers of the accession physical standards, and the performance of military duties. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a 1-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. For purposes of this standard, graduate training programs include only those internship, residency, and fellowship programs that are approved by accrediting bodies recognized within the United States or Canada. For GS-15 -- 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and information resource for accession physical standards and the waiver review process.
You will review medical documentation submitted for waivers of accession physical standards in accordance with the policy guidelines.
You will Record brief, coherent notes in the currently used entry level waiver document management system pertained to the applicant’s case.
You will review, edit and/or approve correspondence prepared by primary reviewers, and draft correspondence regarding waiver recommendations.
You will coordinate and discuss waiver request cases with a variety of authorized military and civilian medical professionals.
You will request additional medical information, records, evaluations, consultations, studies and reports, etc., required to make a waiver recommendation based on the available medical information.
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
