You must meet the Specialized Experience to qualify for Records and Information Management Specialist, as described below. For GS-13: Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal Service. Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Qualifying specialized experience for GS-13 includes (applicants must meet at least three of the four statements): Experience administering a records management program for an organization to include applying records management policies such as records scheduling, appraisal, maintenance, retrieval, archival management, and records retirement. Experience supporting the modernization of records management operations from paper-based to electronic record keeping. Experience interpreting regulations related to records management and information governance to ensure organizational compliance. Experience applying analytical methods to improve program effectiveness such as conducting studies, analyzing findings, preparing reports and briefings, providing technical advice to managers and senior leadership, or developing guidance for records management programs.

This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Office of the Chief Information Officer, Administration, Business Management & Governance (ABMG), Division of IT Governance. The selectee will report to an assigned DOL office location on a regular basis and be eligible for telework as determined by agency policy. This is not a remote position. Offices are located in Washington DC; Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Dallas, TX; Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO. Advertised salary reflects the minimum and maximum pay for the listed locations. Upon selection, the salary will be set in accordance with the selectee's assigned duty location. Major duties include but are not limited to: Develop agency procedures to provide the public and other government agencies with the most reliable Departmental information. Research solutions for existing problems in a variety of program areas. Provide advice to the customer for collaboration on which objectives are to be accomplished. Interpret policies on records management and make authoritative decisions which resolve problems within the office. Advise the Records Management Officer and/or senior analyst team lead on specific problems concerning coordination of action of the various elements of the division to which he/she is assigned. Advise the division director on status and progress of operations and bring to their attention problems and recommendations. Modernize records management functions by managing the transition of agency paper records to electronic records. Coordinate the proper disposition of records consistent with Government-wide policies and procedures.
